Coach Shultz came to lead the Boys Soccer coaching staff in 2009, and brings 20+ years of collegiate, high school, and club soccer coaching experience. Following his collegiate playing career at King College, he served for 2 years as an Assistant Coach for his alma mater, before moving to St. Louis, where he spent 5 years as a Boys Soccer Coach at Westminster Christian Academy. He also spent parts of 3 seasons playing with the Reserves for the St. Louis Ambush, a professional indoor team.

In 2002, Coach Shultz moved his family to Colorado. He continued coaching high school soccer at Eaglecrest High School, where he was named the 5A Centennial League Boys Coach of the Year in his first year as the Head Coach. Coach Shultz also spent six years coaching the U16-U18 Boys teams at the Colorado Rush, just prior to coming to lead the Boys and Girls Soccer Programs at Valor. In his six seasons with the Boys Soccer Program, the team has qualified for the 4A State Playoffs for its first four times, earning top 10 rankings during two of those seasons. During his three years with the Girls Soccer Program (2011-2013), he led the team to a State Championship and two State Semi-finals appearances. Coach Shultz was the Colorado Rush Competitive Boys Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2008, finishing #12 nationally in 2008 with the U17 Nike Boys. He was also awarded the 2012 Valor Coach of the Year and the 2013 Colorado Private/Parochial Coach of the Year.

Coach Shultz is one of the 17 founding teachers at Valor, teaching Spanish the first 4 years, and then leading the Senior Seminar program. When Coach Shultz, father of six, is asked why he coaches at Valor, he says, “I am grateful for the opportunity Valor has given me to coach and to point more young men to Christ along the way.”
