Valor wins 4A Regional Championship, qualifies for State

On Tuesday, September 19, Valor qualified for the State Tournament by winning the 4A Region 2 tournament held at the challenging Country Club of Colorado in Colorado Springs. Valor placed all four players in the top ten (58-player field) and led all teams with a team score of 250. Mullen placed second with a team score of 260. The top two teams from each Region qualify for the State Tournament.

Junior Jake Welch continued to lead the team and tied for second with a round of 79.  Sophomore Hunter Kahn tied for sixth with 85, and juniors Ty Findlow and Trevor White place seventh and tied for 10th, respectively, with rounds of 86 and 88. Most all of the remaining players on Valor’s golf team will see action the week of September 25 to finish out the season.

The Varsity team will compete in the State Tournament to be held at Raccoon Creek GC in Littleton on October 2 and 3.
