VALOR CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCES AJ KUHLE AS HEAD BOYS BASKETBALL COACH

HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO — May 7, 2019 — Valor Christian High School Athletic Director Jamie Heiner announced today that the school has appointed AJ Kuhle as the Eagles’ head Boys’ Basketball coach.

“It’s an honor and blessing that we announce today that AJ Kuhle will be our Head Boys Basketball Coach,” said Heiner. “Coach Kuhle brings a zeal for reaching athletes for Christ through athletics, as well as a wealth of winning basketball experience, both playing and coaching. We truly look forward to the leadership of Coach Kuhle and we are excited about how he will use his coaching platform to impact the young men in our program for life.”

Coach Kuhle is coming to us by way of Concord, CA where he last served as Head Basketball coach and Assistant to the President of School at De La Salle High School. Prior to his time in California, AJ served for 13 years as a college basketball coach at the University of Denver and the United States Air Force Academy on staffs that enjoyed the success of school record breaking winning seasons.

In addition, Coach Kuhle has spent time as a USA Basketball court coach for the U16/U18 national team training camp, as a USA basketball camp clinician, and supported the USAB 3×3 National Championships. As a player, AJ was both the team captain and team MVP at the Air Force Academy on a Mountain West Championship & NCAA tournament team before moving on to play professional within the San Antonio Spurs organization. AJ’s wife, Lindsay is the head women’s golf coach at the University of Denver and they live in Littleton with their two children Lucy (4) and Jordan (1).

A Personal Statement from Coach Kuhle:

“Great athletic traditions are something that have always resonated with me, and therefore, it is an incredible honor to join the Valor Family.” said Kuhle. “It’s what drew me to the Air Force Academy and inspired me to build winning programs at the University of Denver and De La Salle. The incredible tradition that echoes through the rafters and permeates throughout the Valor basketball program has drawn me to the Hilltop. I’m excited for the opportunity to work with amazing leadership in elevating a culture of excellence that will carry that tradition to new heights and bring honor to the school and the community.”

“I look forward to partnering with Valor parents and the greater school community to invest in the lives of our young men as we seek to develop strong Christian character. It is my hope that in doing so we will be honoring Jesus by our words and deeds and will, in fact, be adding to a legacy of excellence. I am unbelievably excited and look forward to the hard work and dedication required to build an outstanding program.”
