Earlier this year, Senior Kendra Knapp submitted her original one-act play, Sonder, to the Regional High School Playwriting Competition hosted by the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA). She beat out 212 other submissions to take the top spot in the state.
“Sonder is a play about technology and how technology changes the way we communicate… How it simultaneously brings us really close together while driving us apart”, says Kendra.
Sonder received a staged reading at the 2016 Colorado New Play Summit. It was also selected by DCPA Education to be produced by their youth summer program. This performance was the World Premiere of her play, and took place Friday, June 24 at the Conservatory Theatre in Denver.
