Three Athletes Compete in Dick Rush Memorial Invitational

The Valor Boys Swim and Dive Team had three athletes participate in the Dick Rush Memorial Invitational Meet on March 18.  The team had some excellent performances.  Matthew Wyatt started things off for the swimmers in the 50 freestyle with an impressive sprint of 22.80 seconds in the prelims, and an even better 22.59 in finals, finishing 11th overall. Lenny Den turned in a powerful 100 butterfly prelims swim in 54.54, and he finished his finals swim in 54.99, taking eighth place. Then it was Matthew’s turn again, this time in the 100 freestyle, where he paced a 50.78 in prelims and a 51.37 in finals for 14th overall. The last swim was Lenny’s 100 backstroke, blazing 54.72 in the morning and 55.99 in the finals and earning fifth place.

Valor diving had a fantastic showing on the 1 meter springboard, with Casey Fellows flying high and finishing fourth overall for 11 dives at 453.70 points.

Our team is working hard and performing well this early in the season!  We look forward to the Jeffco Relays Meeting coming up on Saturday, April 8, at Meyers Pool in Arvada.
