Through 24 sports, Valor student athletes hone their skills and character as they experience lessons of faith and self-discipline. Many of our most dedicated competitors are recruited to play in college and receive athletic scholarships.
Spiritual formation at Valor envelops the students, staff and faculty in a unified vision of Christ-like character development in all pursuits. It is a lifestyle developed, understood, and lived out daily in our school community.
Every Wednesday, students attend a chapel time in the Performance Hall that features a student-led worship band and a message from a staff member or special guest speaker.
Students are placed in single-gender small groups led by a staff member at the beginning of their freshman year. They meet with this group one or two times per month for their next four years of high school, where they have the opportunity to ask hard questions and explore faith and life topics in depth, and have a trusted community where they can unwind from the daily rhythms of school.
Senior Prayer Partners
All Valor seniors are invited to have an adult prayer partner throughout their final year. This is one of our favorite traditions here at Valor, and many of our faculty and staff participate by getting together once a week with a student to pray together and share the journey.
At least once a year, Valor hosts Alpha, a 10-week long evangelistic course which seeks to introduce the basics of the Christian faith through a series of talks and discussions. We gather together to share a meal and dig deep into our questions about the Bible, the tenants of Christianity and the task of following Jesus in the 21st century.
