Runners continue to set PRs late into the season

This week was a bit of a low key week after all of the competition from a week ago as everyone is preparing for the League Meet this coming Thursday.

However, the Sub Varsity/JV Team (The XC Sub Varsity is simply the top 7 JV runners) competed at Pat Amato on Friday afternoon and had a very good showing. Pat Amato is a very large meet with some very good large-school teams competing.

The Boys got things started for the day. Junior, River Schreckengost, led the way for the Boys team and was followed by a pack of runners all within a few seconds of each other; SO-Brennan Martin, FR-Jake Van Vechten, FR-Brandon Seymour and SO-Jack Billman. Jack also set a nice personal best for the day!

The Girls finished out the day for Valor and had a very good showing, finishing fourth overall out of 27 teams, and were the top non-5A team in the meet. The girls scoring consisted of FR-Alli Randall, SO-Sophie Thomas, FR-Rosie McVaney, SR-Nicole MacDonald and FR-Avery Sprout. Both Alli and Rosie ran personal bests for the day.

The personal bests get harder to come by as the season gets closer to ending, so it’s always nice to see multiple kids running their best times in October.

The Valor XC team will be competing at the 4A Jeffco League Meet this coming Thursday. Stay tuned for results!
