Girls golf kicks off season, prepares to host Valor Invitational this week

The girls golf team continued its preparation for the 2017 tournament season with a couple of practices and practice rounds this past week. The first competition of the season will be held on Thursday, March 16, when Valor hosts the 2017 Valor Girls Golf Invitational at Highlands Ranch Golf Club. All seven players (senior Tess Clark, juniors Izzy Marchino, Caroline Burger, and Alex Benschneider, sophomores Morgan Hamler and Kelsey Spelts, and freshman Sam Schoenborn) will compete on Thursday. The first Jefferson County League Tourney will be held on Tuesday, March 21 at Applewood Golf Club.

The team had a great local retreat this past Friday/Saturday with fun team building activities and fellowship during dinner, breakfast and lunch. Many thanks to team Chaplain Casey Willett for starting our retreat with a devotion story on “Diamonds in the Rough”, inspiring us to seek God’s wisdom as Proverbs 2:4-5 suggests: “If you seek her as sliver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will discern the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God.”
