Girls golf finishes third at second Jeffco League tournament

The Valor varsity girls golf team competed in the second 4A Jefferson County League Tourney of the season on Monday, April 3 at Fox Hollow Golf Course.  A cold wind made for a challenging day for the competitors. Freshman Sam Schoenborn led the team with a score of 97 to place eighth individually, and was supported by Izzy Marchino (100-ninth), Alex Benschneider (106-12th), and Caroline Burger (107-13th).  Valor’s team score of 410 finished in third place behind Golden with 375 and Evergreen with 379.
Tess Clark and Kelsey Spelts were scheduled to participate in the first Gold Crown event of the season at Homestead GC but were snowed out. They will both compete on Tuesday, April 11 at Foothill Golf Course.
The varsity golfers will compete in Jeffco’s third tourney at Foothills Golf Course on Monday, April 10, and at the Lady Kadet Invitational at Eisenhower Golf Course on Friday, April 14.
