It was an incredible 2017-2018 season for Valor Girls Basketball. It was a program record of 31 student athletes participating this season and our first full year of Level 3. It was remarkable to see the growth of our teams throughout the season and the support shown even up until the last game.
Although it was a heartbreaking end to the Varsity season with a close game against the visiting Pueblo South Colts, the Eagles fought to the very end.
In a tough Sweet Sixteen matchup, the game was back and forth through most of the contest. Senior Maddie Altman has a strong final performance in a Valor uniform leading the team with 13 points, and freshman Jenna Siebert added an important 12 points. Seniors Camryn Scott and Steph Coors added 11 and 10 rebounds each and played strong against the Colts interior presence.
The four Valor seniors had an incredible career in the blue and white, amassing two state championships, but most importantly, continuing the legacy that each team member is a valuable and integral part of the program. All four of these young ladies will be attending a Christian college and pursuing their dream as a collegiate athlete. For the first time in program history, we will have all our seniors graduate to play in college.
Most importantly, this season was marked with the focus on what is our fuel. Ultimately, our hope and desire is that we are a small reflection of the Glory of God by performing for an Audience of One.
