V-Week

October 7 - October 11

V-Week is a special week each semester focused on a topic that pertains to student wellness. This fall, the goal of the week is to help students explore sources of strength that can help them thrive in a high performing community and in life. These sources of strength – things like positive friendships, mentors, mental health support, and even generosity and kindness – are known to support us through the many challenges we face.

All Week Long – 

  • Swing by the phone booth located in the lobby of the Academic Building – tell us what gives you strength when you struggle or how you find time for real face to face connection 
  • Inktober! Contribute to the V-Week Stronger Together boards in the Arts Building 
  • Every visit to the wellness and kindness stations gets you a raffle ticket for prize drawings on Friday! 

Monday – BREATHE – Healthy Activities 

  • Stop by the wellness stations from 11:00am-1:00pm for some refreshment and a reset in the Valor Center, Athletic Building and the Library. 
  • Ted Talk – Style Talks in the Upper Lobby during lunch – fun and engaging sessions. Bring your lunch, the first 100 students in the door get a raffle ticket 
  • Student and Faculty – Holy Yoga with Hannah Walters after school 3:15-4:00pm – bring your own yoga mat 

Tuesday – BE AWARE – Mental Health 

  • Visit the wellness stations in the Valor Center, Athletic Building and Library 
  • Ted Talk-Style Talks in the Valor Center Upper lobby during lunch – fun and engaging sessions. Bring your lunch, first 100 students in the door get a raffle ticket.

Wednesday – BE SUPPORTIVE – Positive Friends

  • Visit the wellness stations in the Valor Center, Athletic Building and Library 
  • Play with puppies at lunch
  • Chalk Art at lunch 
  • Sunset, milk and cookies night! Bring your friends, your blankets and your guitars to watch the sunset from 6:00-7:30pm on the west lawn

Thursday – BE KIND – Generosity and kindness 

  • Visit the kindness stations – make a piece of origami art, write a note of kindness and pass it on to someone. Stations located in the Valor Center, Library and Athletic Building. Let’s see how many we can make and share with one another. 11:00am-1:00pm 
  • Visit the Kynd Mobile at lunch and make a “kynd kit” – first 50 students will get a free kit! Kits are $6.00 and go to a great cause. 
  • Chalk Art at lunch 

Parent Event, Thursday, 6:15-8:30pm
Interactive resource fair and guest speaker from Sources of Strength. Learn about wellness practices and support systems to help prepare students navigate stress and become healthy, thriving young adults.

Friday – BELONG – Connect to mentors who support you 

  • Visit the kindness stations – make a piece of origami art and pass it on as a note of kindness to a mentor or someone who supports you. Let’s see how many we can make and share. 11:00-1:00 pm  
  • All school Community – 10:00 am – Raffle Prizes – Guest Speaker and Sources of Strength Mentors
  • Sign the Stronger Together Banner in the Athletic Building 
  • 3:15pm Prize drawing
