Eagles Sweep Pomona And Bear Creek Across All Levels

It was a great week at home for another week in the Jeffco League. The Eagles faced Pomona and Bear Creek and were able to pull away to complete the program sweep for all three levels in each of the games.

Against the visiting Panthers from Pomona, the Eagles stormed to an early lead. It was a well balanced game in the scoring column which saw four players in double figures. Jenna Siebert led the way with 16, Raegan Beers added 14 and Karissa Lukasiewicz and Sydney McKibbon both added 11. Junior Katie Baller narrowly missed the double digit mark with nine points and added six rebounds. It was a great team effort and the Eagles looked to Bear Creek on Saturday.

In an emotional game that featured some adversity, the Eagles held strong and played out a gritty game to come away with the 52-45 win over the Bears. Senior Sara Nealy led with grace and grit and finished with 13 points while Jenna Siebert and Karissa Lukasiewicz added 11 and 10 points respectively.

This week our focus was on the principle called “Hurtin for Certain” where we are learning that God redeems suffering for our good and His glory.  We are learning some lessons out of Joseph’s life and working to understand how we see the Lord’s hand in all things.

Another big week in Jeffco 5A remains in visiting Dakota Ridge and at home for Senior Night against Arvada West.
