Last week the Valor Boy’s Varsity Lacrosse team lost to rival Cheyenne Mountain 10-11 in a double overtime heartbreaker. The game was held at Valor’s home stadium, where the Eagles turned on the heat but fell just short in the double overtime. The Eagles started of with several quick goals, leading the Indians 5-0. CM came back with a 7-0 run of their own to take the lead heading into the half. The second half was a constant battle for both teams, and the Eagles scored with just under two minutes remaining to tie the game at 10-10. Both teams were scoreless in the first sudden-death overtime, but the Indians were able to find the back of the goal shortly into the second overtime. The loss was heartbreaking, but showed such promise for the team and their future. The Eagles hope to meet Cheyenne Mountain again in the playoffs with a different outcome!
The Junior Varsity team also went to overtime but the Valor Eagles ended up on top of Cheyenne Mountain for this game.
Friday, Valor hosted Englewood High School. The boys dominated the game with a 21-0 victory.
The Junior Varsity team did not play Friday. Instead they supported and cheered on their varsity team.
