Eagles Look To Build On Two State Titles

The theme for the year’s baseball team is Chop Wood, Carry Water. What does that mean? It means to fall in love with the process and because of the process you will see results. Refining our game, refining our relationships and understanding what it means to become men for Jesus are the hope for the season but it wont come easy.

The Eagles will take on the toughest schedule since inception. This year the varsity and JV2 will play 4A Jeffco while the JV 1 will play an independent 5A schedule. This is the first year that we will have two JV teams and we are excited for the opportunity. Additionally, the varsity team will travel to San Diego to play in a 6A tournament called the San Diego Lion’s tournament and the JV1 will also travel to play in the California Umpire’s tournament. Each team will play 4-5 games while they are out there.

After two sports seasons of waiting, the Eagles are ready to fly. Baseball has so much to be proud of before the season even starts. The program had over 100 players that were at practice and in the weight room during preseason. Our largest number prior to that was 75. The growth has been incredible. On top of having outstanding numbers, we bring back a wealth of talent at all levels. After losing seven seniors last year, the Eagle’s look to continue to grow together and learn from the juniors who are now seniors.

We will continue on the path of being Gritty, Free, High Achieving, Christ followers. It has been talked about for the last two seasons and will continue to be something that strive for daily.

The season opener will be Thursday, March 8, against Palisade at home. We are excited about the opportunity and hope to see you at Valor Baseball games all year long!
