Eagles Continue To Battle Through Tough Schedule

The baseball team continues to push through their daunting schedule after losing to Legend 4-3 and Heritage 8-6. These games are tight, and the varsity team continues to play the best teams in the state and hang with them. 5A looks different. The Eagles mistakes have lended to some width for their opponents, but hats off to each of the teams they are playing, they are solid programs and have long histories of winning.

Coach Bonn said, “We are close. We are looking for the one thing that pushes us over the edge and we will go from good to great. But make no mistake about it, Greatness is about to occur!”

The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday as they take on Mountain Range, who was a final four team last year in the 5A state tournament. Valor plays again on Saturday against neighborhood rival Rock Canyon.

The competition will only make us better. The eagles have four more non conference games before heading into league play next Saturday. Hopefully, the weather won’t stop the eagles from playing before then.

Highlights from the past week:

  • Stronger defensively
  • Birkholz hits first home run of his high school career
  • Zinacola hit first triple of the season
  • Great outings by all pitchers
