Play an Instrument?

Christian Living Communities – both the Someren Glen and Holly Creek Communities in Centennial would love students to come play their instruments for the residents. This is a great opportunity to get in practice and service at the same time. The power of music is large with the senior community and this would be a wonderful service to this community! Spark Volunteers with Restoration Outreach Programs

Restoration Outreach Programs (ROP) needs Spark Volunteers! Spark Volunteers invest in the lives of elementary age kids through worship, Bible lessons, games and crafts each week. Volunteers help to provide a loving and safe environment where our kids can learn about Jesus, grow in relationships with healthy adults, and have freedom and structure to just be kids in a chaotic neighborhood. Commitment is one evening per week from 5:30-8:30 pm at ROP’s building at 1540 Boston St., Aurora 80010.

Free on Tuesday Nights?

The Life Center, in downtown Littleton, opens its food pantry on Tuesday nights to the local community. Volunteers are needed to help register families, load groceries, and play with children while mom shops. Serve anytime from 3pm to 7:30pm.

Calling all Babysitters!

The Life Center, located in downtown Littleton, is looking for volunteers to help babysit children during their evening Bible studies and adult education classes:

Monday night Spanish-language Bible study, every other week (7 – 8:30pm)

Wednesday night ESL and Spanish classes (6 – 8pm)

Thursday night GED classes (6 -8pm)

Awana Leader @ Cherry Hills

Do you love working with children? Be a junior leader at Awana at Cherry Hills Community Church. Volunteers are needed every Wednesday night, or any Wednesday that you can commit, to help as a junior lead in the K – 6th classrooms.

Creative Serving Opportunities at CHCC

Calling all Students! Do you love concerts, running events, stage design, or building props?  The CHCC Production team is looking for students with a great work ethic and a good attitude to join us!

Scenic Design TeamBetween major holidays and weekend services, we are always looking for help building sets on our stage.  If you are interested in design, fabrication, or building props we would love your help.  Projects require minimal experience but will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Event Coordination TeamCherry Hills often hosts large concerts and our team is always looking for volunteers to execute these events from set up to running the actual concert.  If you are interested in event planning, love concerts, or just like to serve we’d love to have you!

Make a Difference in a Kid’s Life!

Looking for a way to change lives for eternity? North Littleton Promise Kids Club and L.I.F.E. programs are looking for volunteers. Join us for Kids Club on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 4-6pm to help mentor and tutor elementary students (grades K-5). Or, share your talents with our L.I.F.E. program for middle school students (grades 6-8) on Wednesdays from 4:15-6:00 pm. Help in Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore

Volunteer and earn service hours at any of the four Habitat Metro Denver ReStores that sell donated home improvement supplies to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission. If you are interested in helping to unload trucks, stock shelves, organize goods, or help customers at one of the ReStores, please contact ReStore Manager of Volunteer Programs Alice Goble at alice@habitatmetrodenver.org.

ReStores are open Mondays – Saturdays from 9am – 7pm (shifts from 9-2 or 2-7) and Sundays from 10am – 5pm (shifts from 10 – 2 or 1 – 5).

Serve Seniors at Christian Living Communities

Christian Living Communities is calling upon Valor students to volunteer at their senior retirement center! Ways to serve include:

One-to-One Visiting

Music and Memories – down-loading music on to iPod Shuffles for residents to enjoy

Pen Pal – helping residents in the assisted living area write notes back to elementary school children.

CHCC Grace Place

Valor students are invited to join Cherry Hills Community Church in bringing the hope of Jesus to children and families in south Denver through a Saturday night service that will be launching on March 5, 2016.

Sort and Share Food With Those in Need

 

Share a few hours of your holiday or summer break to assist the Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry. Weekly, on Fridays, volunteer assistance is needed to unload and sort food between between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30pm. On Friday afternoons, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., volunteers can assist with distributing food to clients, loading vehicles and clean up.

You can impact a life and be a Whiz Kids tutor! Whiz Kids prefers a year-long investment from volunteers who are willing to work with a student once a week for 2 hours helping with reading, math and homework completion.

Paint and Pack Art Supplies for the Nations

This is a fun way to serve! Volunteer to paint and fill a bag of art supplies for underprivileged children all around the world. Art for the Nations can accommodate up to 20 people at a time and requires a pre-scheduled date and time with the organization. Smaller groups of 3-4 people do not require a scheduled time and can stop in during business hours.
