Cheer team attends invite-only camp, hopes to build off of 2016 season

The cheer season is off to a great start and we are looking forward to the upcoming fall and winter season. Our girls have been working hard all summer. We are excited to be led by seven amazing seniors, have many returners, and to have gained four new freshmen and one sophomore, one junior and one senior.  Our goal this year is to continue to be very competitive at the state as well as the national level and improve on last year’s placements.

Over the summer, the cheerleaders attended the Universal Cheerleading Association camp in Loveland in June. This was an invite-only camp where instructors came from all over the country. We were very honored to be a part of this great group and had a extremely successful camp. We also attended a choreography camp over the summer and set our routine for the year. We are excited for the difficulty in our routine and the potential that it has.

Additionally we are looking forward to supporting our teams in the fall and winter seasons. We can’t wait to get all the sports started!

We are having our team retreat in conjunction with a National choreographer in September, and we cannot wait to see what it brings. We gained a new chaplain to our program this year and we are excited for the strength that she brings. Finally we brought on three new coaches this year and are thrilled to have new expertise.

Our state competition is the second weekend in December followed by Nationals the second weekend in February.  We are looking forward to representing Valor at both of those events.

Our coaches feel so blessed and humbled to be a part of this program. We are proud of our girls’ character and the amazing young ladies they are becoming.

We are looking forward to an incredible school year!
