Boys Swim+Dive Takes First Place In Tri-Meet

The Valor Boys Swim+Dive Team participated in a three-team meet this past Friday night against D’Evelyn and Wheat Ridge. The final point tallies for Varsity were Valor Christian 128, D’Evelyn 125, and Wheat Ridge 44. Junior Varsity scoring was Valor 34, D’evelyn 9, and Wheat Ridge 1.  The Eagles were coming off a hard week of practices and still had some great performances.

Valor took first place in 8 of the 12 Varsity events in the meet, with individual wins by Gavin Rogers, Jack Engler, Gavin Gilmore, and Casey Fellows. A relay win was achieved by Engler, Gilmore, Rogers and Mitch Peotter in the 200 Medley Relay; another relay win by Peotter, Gilmore, Engler and Connor Jessen in the 200 Freestyle Relay; and yet another relay win by Gilmore, Rogers, Engler and Josh Raahauge in the 400 Freestyle Relay.  All three of the Valor Varsity relays posted State qualifying times. 

Valor took a win in both of the two Junior Varsity events, with Seth Lewicki and Connor Jessen both racing to first places in their events. 

Congratulations on other victory-supporting performances are also in order for Dylan Jessen, Whittman Brown, Tristan Nieves, Braden Hunt, Julian Crouser, Ryan Bonniwell, Aaron Ward, Kyle Birchfield, Caleb Kim and Colin Hickmon.

This coming Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20, Valor will splash again in the Jeffco Invitational at the George Meyers Pool in Arvada.
