Boys Lax Defeats Rival Regis In Quarterfinals

The boys lacrosse team won their quarterfinal matchup in thrilling fashion on Saturday morning. The Eagles faced cross-town private school rival, who came into the tournament seeded ninth but who’s only in-state losses came to Top 3 teams.

In a previous matchup this year, Valor defeated the Red Raiders 10-9 after trailing by six at halftime.

The Eagles popped out to an early lead on Saturday morning, and headed into halftime up 7-2 against Regis. But, Regis came out of the locker room with new found fire, and in the third quarter, were able to tie it all up at 7-7, keeping the Eagles scoreless the entire quarter.

The boys found a way to get the job done in the fourth though, rallying their energy and leaving it all on the field to earn an 11-9 win, and secure their spot in the semifinals.

Valor will face Kent Denver on Wednesday at Legacy Stadium at 5:00 pm. The winner of this game will advance to the State Championship, which will take place next Monday, May 20, at 7:00 pm at All City Stadium.
