Boys lacrosse claims League Championship, defeats top 5A Heritage

With the 22-0 win on Thursday night over Bishop Machebeuf, the boys lacrosse team secured the Metro League title and a spot in the upcoming state tournament. The Eagles defense was strong, getting their second shutout of the season. The offense continued to roll, tying a season high 22 goals in a game.

Monday night, the Eagles faced a very good 5A opponent from Heritage. Heritage came into the game with an identical record to the Eagles, 8-4. After exchanging early goals, the Valor Eagles ripped off seven straight goals to take a 7-2 lead. Heritage battled back to make it a two goal game in the second half, but the long hard hours the boys have put in at performance paid off, as they pulled away in the fourth quarter to cruise to a big 16-8 win.

Up next for the Eagles is a very good team from Air Academy, always a tough opponent. Come support the boys Monday, May 1, at 7:00 pm at Valor Stadium. On Wednesday, May 3, the boys will wrap up their regular season with Senior Night against another tough 5A team from Legend. Game time is 7:00 pm at Valor Stadium.
