Baseball won three games last week to help continue through the Jeffco League. The first win would come against Golden. It was a back and forth affair, but with the help of Rafe Kinder’s 4 hits and Brady Buehler’s late home run, the Eagles would defeat Golden 8-6. Zach Reid was the winning pitcher who pitched 4 innings with 4 strikes outs while freshman Radek Birkholz got the save and pitched 3 innings and added 2 more strike outs.
The Eagles would wake up early Saturday morning for their next game against Green Mountain. The bats were hot. Valor would jump out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, helped by back to back triples by lead off Austin Howell and Noah Kuzma. They wouldn’t look back from there. Ryan Barber would go 3-3 with 4 RBI and help the team win 11-1. Josh Danyliw threw 5 innings with 5 strike outs.
On Monday, varsity traveled to All Star Park to face the Gators of Standley Lake. The game started a little shaky but the Eagles would settle in after the third inning. Tyler Dollahan helped the Eagles in the game with his 4 RBI day. Zach Reid was the winning pitcher in the game with 4 innings pitched and 7 strike outs. Birkholz would get the save with 3 innings pitched and 5 strikes outs on the day.
Valor Baseball will be back in action on Wednesday vs. D’Evelyn at home. The game starts at 4:00 pm.
