Rick Russon

STEM Coordinator

Appointed 2018. Mr. Russon began his professional career working in the Shuttle Avionics Integration Laboratory (SAIL) at the Johnson Manned Spaceflight Center. His work experience at NASA and elsewhere has included developing software, managing projects, training managers, and advising business executives. Rick comes to Valor after owning his own computer network engineering consultancy for over 18 years. Rick is an enthusiastic life-long learner.  He took up cycling and obtained coaching certifications from the US Olympic Training Center. He went looking for a cooking class and ended up with a culinary degree. A friend took him to hear an aviation presentation and he became a private pilot and Assistant Wing Leader of Colorado Angel Flight. Service to others is also important to Rick. He chaired the Environmental Committee and Culinary Stage of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, and upgraded and installed the sound system in the sanctuary at his church. Rick has been on the Board of Directors for the Denver Bicycle Touring Club and the Rocky Mountain Cycling Club.

Rick is the proud father of daughter, Irene.  They enjoy spending time together cycling, cooking, swimming, and a variety of other activities.  Rick volunteers as the announcer at Irene’s home swim meets.
