Kallyn Connor

Head Cheer Coach

Kallyn came to Valor in 2010 as the Cheerleading coach and to work in Student Life. Since 2010, she has worked in a variety of departments including Academic Support, Counseling and Student Life all while coaching. Jenna Vogel and Kallyn Connor coach together and it is so fun to have a sister team.

Since Kallyn Connor came to Valor the cheer program has excelled. The first year the team placed 2nd in State and in 2014 they placed second in state. The past 6 years the team has made finals and has been a contender in 4A cheer. The cheer team has also attended Nationals the past several years placing in the top in the country in several divisions. The team also won League in 2014.

Many cheerleaders in the program have gone on to cheer in college. Valor has had girls attend University of Colorado at Boulder and University of Oklahoma. Additionally, Kallyn has sent cheerleaders to Gonzaga University, University of Kansas, Boston College, and Denison University.

Each year the program travels to camp in State and has won the Leadership Award the past 2 years. They also travel to Nationals in Orlando Florida and go on a program retreat to the mountains. It has been a blessing to come together and has really encouraged team bonding. The team has also been blessed to serve together for the Special Needs Clinic, Operation Christmas Child, Youth camps and providing gifts for teen moms. Each year we do a devotion and base it around love, humility and a servants heart.

Prior to coming to Valor, Kallyn coached at Regis Jesuit and Arapahoe where they placed 2nd in State and 1st in State. Kallyn has cheered all her life and firmly believes her cheerleaders become part of her family.

Kallyn went to the University of Colorado at Boulder where she majored in History and Education. After teaching at Arapahoe High School she went back to school and received her Master’s degree in Community and School Counseling from the University of Denver. She has been blessed to work at a variety of schools as well as Children’s Hospital.

Kallyn is married to an amazing guy, Nick. They have 3 kids, Audrey, Jack and Cullen. Kallyn is a Denver native growing up with her 5 siblings here in Denver.
