James Gonzales

Instructional Faculty - Arts+Media - Graphic Design

Appointed 2015. Prior to his appointment to Valor, Mr. Gonzales worked as a graphic designer at the Denver Post starting in 1999 and was promoted to lead design in 2010. He is passionate about design and the creative process; especially logo design, branding, and illustration; and does freelance for various businesses and non-profit organizations. He has been active in his church’s youth ministry since 2002 and enjoys teaching elementary students about the love of Christ.

At Valor, Mr. Gonzales has taught all aspects of graphic design, web design, product design and applied media in the print lab. He is also involved with the Marketing and Communications department, leading the initiative for a more robust website to help Valor increase its exposure nationally as a destination high school with a decidedly Christian worldview.

Family is of the most importance to Mr. Gonzales and he loves to spend time with his wife and their 6 children. A Colorado native, he loves fishing, visiting museums and arts festivals, going to concerts with his wife, and is a lifelong fan of his home town sports teams. He is always keeping an eye out for a fresh pair of kicks to add to his ever growing shoe collection.
